How we fear The fate of what lies beyond Beyond what we know and see The daunting certainty of tomorrow’s uncertainty Looming over us. Thoughts of What will the next day bring? Storm clouds of crashes, calamity and chaos, Gray clouds of misery and darkness, Or sun rays of hope, joy and life. How we torture our minds Drowning in worry of the unknown. Afraid to leap. Afraid to go. Afraid to love. Afraid to even try. For unknown to us Is what will be. What will a new place behold? Will it be a place of adventure Or a place of disaster? How we fear the outcome of a new relationship? Beginning a new love not knowing Whether the heart will be filled with love Or be broken in two? But until we step boldly Into the awaiting unknown All will remain unknown. Until we try. Until we seek. Until we make it known.
