Waking the Day

All else is still and silent,

As the wind whistled

Tickling the arms of trees,

And the leaves swayed

Like they were dancing,

Calling out to the waiting waves to join,

And the waves wrestled and swayed

Back and forward, forward and back,

Singing out to the sky,

Welcoming the sun to rise,

And the birds sang in tune,

Another day has come,

And all the living beings shall wake

Beckoned by the call of day,

Of life beginning anew,

For a day unfilled

Yet filled with possibilities,

Under the rays of sunlight

Brought forward by the wake of day.
